The Maui Wedding Association in association with Hawaii Bride magazine and OC 16 TV is proud to sponsor the first "Wedding Of A Lifetime" on Maui. A number of MWA members have volunteered their services to produce a free wedding with all the extras to one deserving couple here in Hawaii.
The winners of the contest were George and Tammy of Maui. On January 8, 2007 George was diagnosed with cancer. It was the hopes of the sponsors and the Association that he would still be feeling good enough for his wedding on July 22nd. Sunday, July 19th, 2009, George lost his fight against cancer and passed away. We are all very sorry for his family and especially for Tammy´s loss.
The ceremony that would have been for George and Tammy's wedding, was transformed to a Memorial Ceremony as a "Celebration of Life" for George. All the planned vendors for the wedding continued to provide their services for the Memorial. The Memorial took place on July 22nd at the Maui Prince Hotel, click on the logo above for a complete list of the generous vendors on Maui. Our hearts and thoughts are with George´s family, friends, and especially for Tammy and her family.
Yes, if you are being married on a beach in Maui, you do need a permit. If you have a wedding coordinator, he/she usually arranges for the permit and usually will charge you for it. This is a further
layer of protection for our couples, as they can rest assured that only licensed, fully insured wedding professionals will be conducting their romantic Maui beach weddings and vow renewals.
